Children and Adolescents

Treatment and Counselling for Children and Adolescents

There are main stages and skills that a child traverses on the road to adulthood. Development is not a straight line and for many children, adolescents and families there are numerous challenges along the road. At Island Psychology we use a range of evidence-based interventions  when working with children and adolescents relative to their presenting issues, always keeping in mind that the young person is still part of a family system.

Therapy can assist the following:

  • Behavioural Problems
  • Anxiety (generalised, social, performance, separation and panic attacks)
  • Depression
  • Interoception
  • Emotional Coaching
  • Parenting
  • Neurodivergent people (Autistic, ADHDers and Learning Difficulties)
  • School Refusal
  • Attachment
